Investigating Our World VR Workshops

Master Map Skills and Time Zones Through VR

During our Investigating Our World VR Workshops, pupils learn to locate key map features, understand the significance of the Prime Meridian at Greenwich, and explore how GMT and time zones divide our planet into 24 distinct slices of time. These are concepts that can feel impossibly abstract on a worksheet but become genuinely tangible when pupils experience them through immersive virtual reality.

Explore Climate Zones, Biomes and Vegetation Belts

One of the most powerful elements of the session is the journey through Earth’s contrasting climate zones. Pupils travel from tropical rainforests to polar tundra, from scorching deserts to temperate woodlands, witnessing firsthand how latitude, climate, and ecosystems interconnect. Contrasting biomes and vegetation belts come to life in a radical way, helping pupils understand not just where these environments are, but why they exist and how life adapts within them.

Curriculum-Aligned and Suitable for All Year Groups

Our Investigating Our World VR Workshops are fully aligned to the National Curriculum, covering the position and significance of latitude, longitude, the Equator, the Tropics of Cancer and Capricorn, and the Arctic and Antarctic Circles. For the price of a single class trip, we can bring this experience to your whole school in one day.
